HOW TO RUIN THE NEW YEAR
I cannot tell you how many federation leaders sent me the following message we received from JFNA. Their characterization of JFNA's message and judgment ranged from "unreal" to "disgusting," from "ridiculous" to "these people need to be retired now" and echoed my own. For those of you who had not seen what follows, I assure you that I am not making this up:
"What
better
resolution could there be, than to join us in New Orleans for TribeFest
2014? You've been waiting since TribeFest 2012 ended. It's enough pain
already. Leave the suffering for Yom Kippur."
We, as a People and as a Jewish polity face what may be the most challenging year in our experience and JFNA sends out this?
"Disgusting," indeed.

As a JFNA Board Member and Federation Chair I am ashamed. This waste just can't be allowed to continue

ReplyDeleteWell, Richard, "shame" sounds right and these people appear to have none -- is everything about TribeFest a joke?
ReplyDeleteA federation umbrella organization that is silent while Syria uses chemical weapons to kill 1000's of its own citizens but published something like this -- there are no words for it.
ReplyDeleteAnd the Executive Committee plans to renew this CEO's contract? Guess Michael and Dede have given up on JFNA. A shame.
ReplyDeleteSo... When will there be a gathering of those who care and can make the changes needed before it is too late?
ReplyDeleteTo the Anonymous informant who stated that the JFNA Exec Committee is about to renew Silverman's contract, you are wrong. At least for now
ReplyDeleteThis is just another example of how disconnected JFNA is from its owner and, even, its constituencies. Understand, the Young Leadership Cabinet membership, if surveyed, would register a loud 'NAY' to the continuation of this TribeFest farce.
ReplyDeleteNo one is listening to us!
